On March 21, 1993, twelve (12) determined and enthusiastic Filipino engineers met at the residence of Engr. Bert Caoili to lay out the framework of a professional organization. On that fateful day, the “Association of Filipino-American Engineers of Washington” (AFEW) was born! The group elected the organization’s first set of officers and defined its mission to bolster fellowship, improve technical skills and social interactions among Filipino engineers in the State of Washington!
The Association of Filipino-American Engineers of Washington (AFEW) is a non-profit corporation; a multidisciplinary organization of engineers and STEM professionals in the state of Washington, dedicated to fostering fellowship among its members, inspiring deep appreciation for our Filipino-American cultural heritage, collaboration with other organizations, and empowering generations of engineering leaders committed to excellence, professionalism and community service.
To inspire engineering leadership and excellence, and promote increased awareness and pride in our Filipino-American cultural heritage through fellowship, collaboration, educational & professional programs, and community service.
At AFEW Global, we envision a world where every person has access to the resources they need to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. We strive to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
