OUR MISSION
AEF's mission is to empower aspiring engineering students to reach their full potential through advancing engineering excellence, improving access to educational and technological resources, and fostering a community that celebrates their Filipino- American cultural heritage, academic achievement, grit and resilience.
OUR HISTORY
Established in 2021, the Founders and Executive Officers of AFEW have shared a common vision to setup a 501c3 non-profit arm that would pave the way for a more effective means to raise funds and provide financial assistance to our scholars. With the official incorporation of AFEW Educational Fund (AEF) in 2021, this vision has become a reality. AEF’s generous donors may now provide financial help for our scholars and have the benefit of having their donated money be tax-deductible. As AEF continues to grow, its primary commitment is to provide scholarship assistance to deserving engineering students in Washington State and the Philippines.
In the recent years following its incorporation, AEF has celebrated the hard work and high academic achievement of a select number of aspiring engineering students residing in the state of Washington. Encompassing a deep appreciation and pride in their Filipino- American cultural heritage and identity, these students are given recognition during the annual AFEW Gala event while among Filipino- American Engineering professionals and peers.

Born in Ilocos Norte and grew up in Baguio City. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Saint Louis University and is currently an Electronic & Electrical Engineering Manager at The Boeing Company. In his role, he develops and executes project plans, implements policies and sets operational goals. Whether it involves a global company (like Boeing) or a multidisciplinary organization of engineers (like AFEW), the mission remains the same – commitment to engineering excellence, professional growth and career development. Jojo truly believes that the success of AFEW’s advocacy and mission hinges on a strong foundation of belonging, inclusion and leveraging differences.
Fortunate to live in PNW for the great outdoors (for cycling and hiking). Also loves the indoors (for tinkering in the garage or days when binge-watching a cool Netflix series is more ideal).
